Since September 4, 2007 Krakow airport has been renamed as John Paul II International Airport. It is located in a village called Balice close to Krakow in Southern Hungary. Distance from the airport to Krakow city center is just 11 km. This airport has a single terminal building and a single runway at present. There is an emergency grass runway as well.
When a passenger arrives in John Paul II International Airport, he has to pass through the passport control and the security check before arriving in the baggage carousals.
